Angular vs React vs Vue in 2026: How We Choose for Real Projects

All three frameworks are excellent. The right choice depends on your team, your product and your ten-year plan — here is the decision framework we use.

"Which framework should we use?" is the first question in almost every web project kickoff. The honest answer is that Angular, React and Vue can all build the same product to the same quality. The differences lie in structure, ecosystem and how a team grows around them. Here is how we decide.

Angular: the opinionated platform

Angular is a complete platform: router, HTTP client, forms, dependency injection, testing and a CLI, all versioned together. With standalone components and signals, modern Angular is lighter and faster than its reputation suggests. We reach for Angular when:

  • the product is a large, long-lived business application (admin consoles, portals, ERPs);
  • the team is .NET or Java-oriented and values strong typing and structure;
  • several teams need to work in one codebase with consistent conventions.
TypeScript · Angular
// Angular 20 — signals + standalone component
@Component({
  selector: 'app-trip-summary',
  standalone: true,
  template: `<p>{{ fare() | currency:'EUR' }} · {{ distance() }} km</p>`
})
export class TripSummaryComponent {
  distance = signal(12.4);
  rate = signal(1.35);
  fare = computed(() => this.distance() * this.rate());
}

React: the flexible library

React is a rendering library with an enormous ecosystem. That flexibility is its strength and its cost: you choose the router, state management, forms and build tooling — or adopt a framework such as Next.js that chooses for you. We reach for React when:

  • the product is content-heavy or public-facing and benefits from server-side rendering;
  • the team already has React or React Native experience;
  • you want the widest hiring pool and component ecosystem.
TypeScript · React
// React — the same widget with hooks
function TripSummary({ distance, rate }) {
  const fare = useMemo(() => distance * rate, [distance, rate]);
  return <p>{fare.toFixed(2)} € · {distance} km</p>;
}

Vue: the pragmatic middle

Vue combines a gentle learning curve with an official, well-integrated ecosystem (Vue Router, Pinia, Nuxt). Its single-file components are readable and its Composition API scales well. We reach for Vue when:

  • speed of onboarding matters — designers and back-end developers become productive quickly;
  • the app needs to be embedded progressively into an existing site (including jQuery-era sites);
  • the team is small and values simplicity.

What about jQuery?

We still maintain jQuery codebases for clients, and we don't rewrite them for fashion. When a legacy site needs new features, we introduce Vue or React islands page by page — a migration that pays for itself instead of freezing the business for a year.

Our default: Angular for internal business platforms behind .NET APIs, React (Next.js) for public products, Vue for rapid builds and progressive migrations. But your team's experience beats our default every time.

The questions that actually decide it

  1. Who will maintain this in five years, and what do they know?
  2. Does the product need SEO and server rendering?
  3. How many teams will share the codebase?
  4. Is there an existing design system or component library to reuse?

Answer those and the framework usually chooses itself.
